ESG ratings
OTP Group’s environmental, social and governance (ESG) performance is rated by a number of agencies, for the purpose of providing information to investors.
Sustainalytics ESG uses risk ratings to assess companies. The rating provides a clear insight into ESG risk at the corporate level by measuring the extent of an organisation’s unmanaged ESG risk. The specific criteria only consider issues that have the potential to have a significant impact on the economic value of the company. The lower the level of unmanaged risk, the better the assessed company performs in terms of ESG.
OTP Bank Sustainalytics ESG Risk Assessment: Low
In 2022 OTP Bank’s overall ESG Risk score improved from 20.3 to 17.1, reached the low risk category. Risk is negligible in business ethics and low in the ares of human capital, ESG integration and product governance.
The MSCI ESG rating is designed to measure a company’s resilience to long-term, industry-relevant environmental, social and governance risks. A rules-based methodology is used to identify industry leaders and laggards, based on how exposed companies are to ESG risks and how well they manage these risks relative to their competitors. Their ESG ratings range from leading (AAA, AA), average (A, BBB, BB) to lagging (B, CCC).
