OTP Group named highest-ranked European bank in Forbes' new global ranking
OTP Group became the highest-ranked European bank in the Large Banks category of the inaugural Forbes World's Top Performing Banks 2026 ranking and finished 10th globally among its peers.
Budapest, September 10, 2026 – Developed by Forbes in cooperation with Statista, the ranking evaluates banks based on objective financial performance indicators. The ranking recognises banks that can maintain strong growth, high profitability, solid capital and funding positions, and strong asset quality over a multi-year period.

„OTP Group's story is unique. Over the past decades, we have built one of the leading banking groups in Central and Eastern Europe through consistent organic growth, successful acquisitions and disciplined operations. What makes this recognition particularly valuable is that it acknowledges our ability to combine rapid growth, outstanding profitability and long-term resilience. This balance has been at the core of our strategy for many years" – said Peter Csanyi, CEO of OTP Bank.
The ranking is another important international recognition of OTP Group's performance. Earlier this year, the Group was included among the world's Top 400 companies in the Forbes Global 2000 ranking, while in S&P Global Market Intelligence's latest European banking performance ranking, OTP Group was ranked among Europe's top two performing banks for the third consecutive year.
