OTP Private Banking named Best Private Bank of Central and Eastern Europe

The winners of The World’s Best Private Bank Awards 2022 have been announced.

This is the first time OTP Private Banking was named the best private banking service provider within the CEE region by the internationally renowned Global Finance Magazine. In the national awards category, OTP Private Banking was also presented with the Best Private Bank in Hungary award for the fifth year in a row. In addition, CKB Bank, the Montenegrin subsidiary of OTP Group, has won the Best Private Bank in Montenegro award for the third time.

Headquartered in New York, Global Finance Magazine ranked the best banks and financial service providers of the world for the seventh time. Since its foundation, the Global Finance Best Private Bank Awards has become one of the most reliable standards of excellence for the global financial community. Professional judges recognise banks that best serve the specialised needs of high-net-worth individuals as they seek to enhance, preserve and pass on their wealth. Winners are not always the largest institutions but those awarded for their excellence: they typically have characteristics that are highly appreciated by clients as they select their service provider. Wealthy individuals have responded to the global health crisis in numerous ways, which created new needs in sustainable investment opportunities and in the more and more sophisticated area of digital services. Winners of the Global Finance Private Bank Awards 2022 are private banks with the best responses to this new situation.

Global Finance’s editorial board selected the winners for the Private Bank Awards with input from executives and industry insiders, based on independent research and information from entries submitted by banks. The award is for 2022, and this year’s ratings were based on performance during the period covering 1 July 2020 through 30 June 2021.

“Almost one year ago we integrated our investment and private banking services, placing our private banking business line under the Group-level management of OTP Global Markets. Besides our business results, a series of prestigious, independent, professional awards also confirm that the cooperation fostered through the restructuring was successful, opening up new horizons of opportunities for our division”, said Attila Bánfi, Managing Director of OTP Global Markets.

OTP Private Banking provides asset management services in the CEE region to around 73,000 customers in 11 countries, and manages over EUR 9 billion worth of customer assets, providing customers with stability and innovative solutions at the same time. OTP’s private banking business in Hungary manages assets of HUF 2,500 billion for nearly 24,000 customers.
